He created The Breakthrough Mindset whereby he helps business owners Identify and change stubborn behaviors that are limiting their future. The Breakthrough Mindset is a way of thinking, speaking, doing and being that empowers a person to shed past stories and identities (including stories of success) that are holding them back from reaching their dreams.
In 2018, Hal was instrumental in creating the culture and leadership at JUMP Software that enabled JUMP to grow revenue 500%. From 2011 to 2018, Hal was Chief People Officer at Infusionsoft. During this time, he oversaw culture, leadership development, and human resources and enabled the growth of Infusionsoft from $20 million to $100+ million in revenues and from 170 to 650+ employees. He developed and scaled culture initiatives that resulted in Infusionsoft being named by Fortune Magazine and Great Places to Work as one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Women, one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials and 13th best medium-sized company. Throughout his career, he has been a culture architect and evangelist that unifies and connects people and culture to business strategy. Hal was Founder and CEO of NorthSky, a web-hosting platform that was acquired by About.com. Hal has a rich leadership history with a strong foundation in entrepreneurship and has served as an executive of high-growth companies for 20 years. He has proven that to create great companies you hire the best and create the conditions for them to be their best. Hal began his career as an investment banker, working in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. As a father of four, he spent two decades coaching his kids in a variety of youth sports and today enjoys music, adventure cycling, snowboarding and surfing. Hal received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in Finance from the University of Utah.
